Zoom in on the TV as a grainy image of a giant ghost monster rises up out of the river, you see 4 or 5 proton streams shoot up at the thing (from either the top of a pylon tower, street level, or both). The Ghostbusters were on the scene, (maybe located on one of New York's famous bridges). "We're interrupting this broadcast to report an apparent paranormal attack that occurred in NYC an hour ago. A kid in a living room watching The Real Ghostbusters cartoon on TV when a news anchor interrupts the broadcast. This thing looks like a fan cobbled it together in his garage for a few thousand bucks. New paint job, polished chrome, fresh lights, loud siren. Plus, the joke in the original was that they paid way too much for the vehicle (and probably would been cheaper to go with a new vehicle), not to mention the massive amount of work it needed, yet because they were scientists and engineers, that fucker rolled out looking TIGHT and CRISP. If this is a remake, then a start up company would not want Ecto-1 to look like shit. Why is it that the car and the proton pack look like they're been in storage in the back lot of Columbia pictures for forty years? THIS is a hearse and a shitty one at that. It already had emergency lights on it when they bought it. Not to mention, we've lost Harold Ramis who rewrote Aykroyd's original script to ground it in reality and make it more of a character piece. Like The Blues Brothers, Ghostbusters probably could not have been made at any other time. 1 x Guitar pick (for quick and easy removal of the licence plates)The original film was unique because the script was written by a person with experience in paranormal research circles.1 x 3M self-adhesive magnetic backing to convert the Eaglemoss ECTO-1 plate to magnetic (if you wish to still use it).2 x 3M self-adhesive magnetic backing for the die-cast plates.2 x 3M self-adhesive magnetic insert for the licence plate housing on the front and rear of the Ecto-1 (to attract the plates).8 x Die-cast licence plates – Including all front and rear designsĪll sets include everything you need to make the plates magnetic and convert the Ecto-1 to take magnetic plates, including:.2 x Permanent 3M self-adhesive backing stickers – For optional permanent fixture of a front and rear plate.1 x Magnetic kit – Allowing interchangeable plates. 2 x Die-cast licence plates – Front and rear.Kit options:Ī) ECTO-1 Cropped – Cropped front plate and full border rear plateī) ECTO-1 Full – Full border front and rear platesĬ) AFTERLIFE Cropped – Cropped front plate and full border rear plateĭ) AFTERLIFE Full – Full border front and rear platesĬollector’s Edition – All 8 plate designs, front and rear. A version of the front plate with the full border is also available if you would prefer it to look ‘right’. Why is the border cropped on this design? Whilst it’s difficult to see, the original ECTO-1 licence plate in Ghostbusters does actually have a full border surround, but is part-hidden on the top and left sides behind the chrome licence plate surround. Similar to the Eaglemoss plate, you may think, but together with other design and colour corrections, this plate will allow you to correctly angle and position it on the front of the car, into the top-left corner – unlike the plate provided with the model which is fixed incorrectly and permanently into the centre of the licence plate surround. The front plate, with its cropped left and top border, imitates how the plate appears in the iconic Ghostbusters scene where the Ecto-1 is first revealed.
